BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar sophomore midfielder Kristin Bos was a third-team selection on the National Soccer Coaches of America All-Central Region squad, the association announced today.
The native of Valencia, Calif., was second on the team in scoring with 26 points on 11 goals and four assists. Her efforts helped the Lady Cardinals set a program record with 11 wins and reach the finals of the Southland Conference Tournament for the first time in the six-year history of the program at LU.
“I’m pretty excited about receiving the honor. I couldn’t wait to tell my family,” Bos said. “We had a great season, and we want to build on that next season.”
Bos tied a school record with four-game winning goals. She led the team with 79 shots and 48 shots on goals, both school records. She is the first Lamar player to earn all-region recognition.
“Kristin deserves the honor. She’s a great player and a great person,” Lamar coach Orlando Cervantes said. “It’s great recognition for her and for our program.”
