Honkofsky played two years for Morehead State (2007, 2008), appearing in 91 games. She hit .248 with three home runs as a senior, helping Morehead State to a 34-16 record, the best mark in school history. She capped her senior year by receiving the Eagle Award as the university's best all-around athlete. Prior to Morehead State, Honkofsky played one season at Rhode Island before transferring to North Florida Community College, where she earned second-team all-conference honors at shortstop. Bruder said hiring Honkofsky was an easy decision, citing her passion and excitement for softball. "She's a tremendous recruiter," Bruder said. "She's also excellent at practices and game situations." Honkofsky, a native of Hampstead, Md., holds a bachelor's degree in communication from Morehead State and an associate's degree from North Florida Community College. #LUsoftball |
