BEAUMONT, Texas – Catcher Donna Dugas, a three-time first-team All-Southland Conference selection, represents Lamar on the Southland Conference’s all-time team that was announced today.
Dugas was named a first-team performer from 1985 to 1987, Lamar’s last three seasons of softball before bringing the sport back this past season.
Dugas was the conference’s hitter of the year in 1986 after leading the SLC with a .315 batting average. She hit a school-record .420 as a senior to again lead the conference. Her .777 slugging percentage in 1987 is also a school record.
For her career, Dugas hit .295 with nine home runs and a school-record 49 RBIs over 164 games.
The Southland Conference named its all-time team as part of its commemoration of its 50th anniversary. Sarah Dawson of Louisiana-Monroe was its all-time pitcher, while Jessica Rogers of UTSA was the all-time hitter. Ricci Woodard of Texas State was the conference’s all-time coach.
