BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University softball team closes out its fall exhibition schedule when it hosts Galveston College in a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ford Park. Admission is free.

“We’ve definitely improved,” Lamar coach Holly Bruder said. “Our pitching has progressed and we’re much better at the fundamentals. Now we just have to start hitting better.”

 Lamar opens its spring schedule when it hosts UTSA in a non-conference doubleheader at 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at Ford Park. The Lady Cardinals will play 21 home games and a full Southland Conference schedule this spring.

Ticket information for the 2013 schedule will be announced in the future.
