After four years as a member of Lamar's women's tennis team as a player, Manami Kuroda makes the transition to the role of assistant coach.
The native of Tokyo, Japan, earned a degree in communication at Lamar, where she helped the LAdy Cardinals advance to the NCAA Tournament in 2008.
Kuroda came to Lamar from the Niagara Academy of Sports in Vineland, Ontario, where she was ranked in the top 30 among players younger than 18 in the province. Kuroda received a bronze medal in doubles in a national competition in Japan.
The daughter of Toshitaka and Mineko Kuroda enjoys playing the piano, singing, cooking, drawing and playing volleyball.
