UPDATE: Sunday's matches were called off due to inclement weather in Natchitoches.

NATCHITOCHES, La. - Alicia Porte earned a spot in the consolation final of the top flight on Saturday as the Lady Cardinal tennis team finished the second day of play at the Lady Demon Invite at Jack Fisher Tennis Complex on the campus of Northwestern State University.

Porte took on fellow Lady Card Helene Czudek in the semifinal after each advanced by way of default. Porte picked up a 6-1, 6-0 decision in the encounter and will take on Madeleine Mortimore of Sam Houston State on Sunday.

Carolina Salas also competed in the top flight, but fell 6-4, 6-3 to Sophie Rufyikiri of ULM in the semis.

In the Flight 2, Natalia Mayagoitia also suffered a semifinal defeat, losing 6-3, 6-0 to another Warhawk, Slivia Turnova.

In the consolation bracket of the second flight, Alessandra Pennesi lost 6-4, 6-3 to Louisiana's Nicole Breaux. Carolina Maso fell 6-3, 6-2 to Kate Bugayenko of Stephen F. Austin.

In doubles action, Salas and Porte dropped an 8-2 decision to NSU's Tatiana Larina and Andrea Nedorostova.

In the consolation bracket, Maso and Mayagoitia fell 8-5 to Kate Lanier and Lauren May of Southern Miss. Czudek and Dariya Dashutina advanced to the semifinals on Sunday by way of bye.
