BEAUMONT, Texas -
The Lamar University women's tennis team takes to the road this weekend for a Southland Conference match at Sam Houston State.
The Lady Cardinals (2-5 overall, 0-2 Southland) are at Sam Houston State at 5 p.m. Saturday's match will be played indoors at The Woodlands Athletic Club. Sunday's scheduled match at Stephen F. Austin has been postponed due to the inclement weather that is forecast for the weekend.
Alessandra Pennesi leads Lamar with a 5-2 record in singles play, including a 2-0 mark against Southland Conference competition. Carolina Salas is 4-3 in singles matches for the Lady Cardinals.
Sam Houston State (6-2, 2-0) is led by Tatyana Postnikova with a 7-1 singles record. Postnikova has combined with Nadia Dubyanskaya for a 6-1 mark at doubles.
The SFA match has been rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. March 21 at Stephen F. Austin.
