BEAUMONT - The Lamar University women's tennis team continued their hot play Tuesday, taking down Lee College 6-1 at the Cardinal Courts to improve to 15-5 on the year.

The Lady Cards opened with a dominant performance in double play, dropping just three points at No. 1 and one point at No. 3. In the match at No. 2 Lamar rolled to an 8-0 victory.

In singles play Lamar won the matches at one through five in straight sets, while Lee College picked up a straight set win at No. 6.

I like the way we played today," head coach David Wong said. "We fought for every point and we did not allow Lee to get comfortable on the court. With one match left in the regular season, I think we are really starting to play good tennis."

The LU women will close out the regular season against Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Saturday at noon.
