BEAUMONT - The Lamar University women's tennis team will wrap up the regular season Saturday at noon when they host Texas A&M Corpus Christi at the Cardinal Courts.

Lamar enters the match with a 15-5 season record and an 8-1 mark in Southland Conference play. The Islanders come into the match with a 5-8 season record and a 3-5 mark in SLC play.

Prior to the match, the Lady Cardinals lone senior, Maria Gutierrez will be recognized for her efforts over the last four years. She has a .790 winning percentage over her four year career, is 34-7 all-time against Southland Conference opponents, and is undefeated at No. 2 singles in SLC play this year. In addition to her accolades on the court, she is a two-time academic all conference selection and a two-time COSIDA District VI University Division second team selection.

After the showdown with the Islanders this weekend, the Lady Cards will turn their attention to the SLC tournament, scheduled for April 24-26 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
