BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar University's Natalia Mayagoitia (Monterrey, Mexico) was named to the Southland Conference Women's Tennis All-Academic Team, the conference announced Wednesday.

Mayagoitia, a junior who carries a 3.54 GPA in psychology, was named to the second team. This season, she posted a 10-11 record in singles competition, including a 7-4 mark in Southland Conference matches.

"I'm very happy for Natalia," Lamar women's tennis coach David Wong said. "She is an excellent student and worked hard to improve her tennis game. I'm looking forward to having her back next season."
