LUBBOCK, Texas - Taylor Cloy's third-place finish in the women's 1-mile run was Lamar's best finish at the Texas Tech Classic over the weekend.

Cloy was timed in 5 minutes, 17.77 seconds. Other top finishers for the Lamar women included Joyce Cheruiyot's fifth-place effort in the 3,000 meters (10:29.24) and Nora-Beth Saunders' fifth-place finish in the 5,000 meters (19:32.79). Lamar's 4x400 relay team of Ashley Smith, Hanna Nilsson Palmgren, Alisha Cofer and Carmen Gedling was 12th in 4:03.11.
