HOUSTON - The Lamar University women's track team placed 11th at the Victor Lopez Classic at Rice University over the weekend.

Nora-Beth Sanders was fifth in the women's 10,000 meters with a time of 39:18.97. Katrine Vaesel was sixth in the women's 1,500 meters in 4:55.93. Taylor Cloy was sixth in the women's 5,000 meters in 17:33.24.

Beatrice Douglas was fifth in the high jump with an effort of 5 feet, 5 inches and 10th in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 5.75 inches. Ashley Idunoba was seventh in the women's 100 meters in 11.99 seconds.

The Lady Cardinals finished with 11 points. Notre Dame had 53 points to lead the 20-team field.

Lamar is at the Texas Relays from Wednesday though Saturday in Austin.
