The Lamar University track team wrapped up action at the 82nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Make A. Meyers Stadium with 11 athletes in action.
The top finish for Lamar was turned in by Ewan Simpson who grabbed an eighth place finish in the men's 1,500 meter run. The senior posted a time of 4:00.23 which is the fifth fastest time in the Southland Conference this season.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Julius Kasule, Josh Raglon, Jamal Nash and Greg Williams finished the prelims in 22nd place with a 3:18.51 performance, edging their previous season-best of 3:18.54 by .03 seconds.
In the women's 4x100 relay the team of Porsch'e Williams, Adrianne Johnson, Megan Bibbs and Ashley Smith Lady Cardinals ran to a 48.09 finish, which was 35th in the prelims.
Angel Basset ran the 400 meter hurdles for the Lady Cards, posting a time of 1:07.21 for a 51st place finish.
Johnson and Bibbs also competed in the sprint hurdles, with Johnson finishing 53rd and Bibbs coming in 62ns place. Johnson crossed the finish line in a time of 15.34 seconds and Bibbs notched a time of 19.20 seconds.
Linnea Collin represented Lamar in the 100 meter dash, posting a time of 12.60 for a 77th place finish.
The Lamar track team will now turn its attention to the Ty Terrell Relays, which they will host on Saturday, April 11 starting at 10 a.m. at the Ty Terrell Track.
