Koenck Runs Season-Best at LSU Alumni Gold Meet

BATON ROUGE - In the second to last regular season track meet of the year, Clerc Koenck continued to improve her time in the 1,500 meter run, posting the best finish of the day for the Lamar track team at the LSU Alumni Gold track Meet in Baton Rouge.

Koenck, a sophomore from Anacoco, La., ran a 4:36.98 in the 1,500 to finish in fourth place. Her time is the fastest time in the Southland Conference this season, edging out teammate Amanda King's top time of 4:38.85, which she ran at the York Relays, the opening meet of the outdoor season.

On the men's side, Jonny Lennon ran a season-best 54.33 in the 400 meter hurdles. His time is also the best of the year for the Cardinal men, edging out Stephen Boone's 54.67 ran at the Dogwood Invitational.

The Cardinal track teams will be in action again on Thursday, when they host the Ty Terrell Relays at the Ty Terrell Track Complex. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m. with field events, with running beginning at 1 p.m.
