BEAUMONT - The Lamar University track teams open the 2006 outdoor season Friday at the York Relays, hosted by Sam Houston State University, at Bowers Stadium and the York Field Events Center in Huntsville.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with the women's hammer throw, while running events are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. The meet will conclude with the running of the men's 4 by 400 meter relay, which is scheduled to begin at 7:10 p.m.

The Cardinals enter the outdoor season after finishing the indoor season with a fourth place finish by the women, and a 10th place finish by the men.
