BEAUMONT - Lamar University senior Clerc Koenck earned a trip to the NCAA indoor track and field championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.

Koenck punched her ticket with the 17th fastest mile run time in the NCAA this season, a 4:41.91 which she ran on February 16. She is the first Lamar runner to advance to the national championships since Alicia McIntosh made it in 2000 in the 60-meter dash.

Koenck currently holds the top four times in Southland Conference history in the mile, and was named the conference Indoor Track and Field Women's Athlete of the Year and Outstanding Track Performer.
