Lamar track teams head to Northwestern State

BEAUMONT, Texas - The Lamar University men's and women's track teams will compete at the Leon Johnson Invitational at Northwestern State on Friday. Themeet gets under way with field events at 10 a.m. Friday. The LU men will have competitors in the men's and women's pole vault, long jump and triple jump. The running events are slated to start at 2 p.m. Friday. Lamar will be well represented in the men's 800 meters, as the Cardinals will send six competitors (Chris Jones, Ronnie Whitty, Idara Effiong, Aaron Malek, Josh Raglon and Mark Woodley). The Lady Cardinals have six runners (Carmen Gedling, Elzbieta Gawron, Saschelle Slaughter, Wilika Williams, Shakevia Fleeks and Ashley Idunoba) in the 200 meters. Lamar's next meets are the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., on April 19 and 20 and the SLU Invitational, also on April 20. LAMAR
