Cardinal Track Picks Up Five Wins at NSU Invitational
April 14, 2007 NATCHITOCHES, La. - The Lamar University track and field teams battled cold and windy weather Saturday, as they picked up five wins at the Northwestern State Invitational in Natchitoches, La. Amanda King tied her season-best time of 10:34.81 in the 3,000 meter steeple chase, and Frank Bwambale picked up a win in the men's 3,000 meter steeple chase. Also colleting wins for Lamar was Clerc Koenck in the women's 1,500, Francis Kasagule won the men's 1,500 and Karesse Lethermon won the women's 800 meter run. "These were less than ideal conditions to compete in today," head coach Trey Clark said. "I was really pleased to see the way the athletes handled the adverse conditions. You never know what kind of conditions to expect on race day, and we reacted very well."
