Lamar University track and cross country star Clerc Koenck was named to the 2007 U.S. Track And Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team.
Koenck, an exercise science major, posted a 3.76 grade point average while running cross country, indoor and outdoor track for the Lady Cardinals. She won the SLC cross country championship, took home dual honors as the league awarded her the Outstanding Track Performer and Athlete of the Year in indoor track and repeated as the conference champion in the outdoor 1,500 meter run.
The USTFCCCA honors Division I individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track season. In all, 415 student-athletes representing 117 Division I colleges and universities were named to the All-Academic team.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, one must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and obtain an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark for the most recent indoor championships or an outdoor regional qualifying mark in their respective event.
