ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - The Lamar Lady Cardinals dropped their opening match of the Comcast Lobo Tournament, hosted by the University of New Mexico, falling 3-0 to the Villanova Wildcats.

Villanova pounced early in the match, posting 15-30 and 17-30 wins before the Lady Cardinals pushed game three to the limit before falling 29-31/ Lamar managed just a .059 hitting percentage in the match, while the Wildcats posted a .303 hitting percentage.

Buchi Okoh led Lamar with 10 kills with a .259 hitting percentage, while Ashley Todd contributed 28 assists and Erica Brown collected 17 digs.

The loss drops Lamar to 0-5 on the season.

The Lady Cardinals will be in action again Saturday afternoon when they take on New Mexico at n12:30 and Northern Arizona a 5 p.m.
