CONWAY, Ark. - Sierra Whittaker had an efficient day attacking on Saturday afternoon, but it was all for naught as the Lady Cards volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-18) to Central Arkansas at the Prince Center.
Whittaker hit .467 for the day with a team-best eight kills. Cortney Moore, Christina Hobbs and Wendy Krell each tallied five, but as a team the Lady Cards were out-hit by the Sugar Bears .453 to .133.
Hobbs also racked up three service aces and a pair of blocks.
Alex Morford controlled the offense, handing 24 assists.
Defensively, Erika Rojas had the team high in digs with seven and Megan Schwartz added six.
With the loss, the Lady Cards fell to 9-12 this season and 1-6 in Southland play. UCA improved to 19-1 and 7-1 in the conference.
Lamar will return to play next week as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Sam Houston State will visit McDonald Gym.
