Final Stats

BEAUMONT – Lady Cardinal seniors accounted for 22 of the team’s 34 kills on Saturday, but it was all for naught as the Lamar volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-21) to Oral Roberts at McDonald Gym.

The four seniors were honored in a pre-game ceremony as the match marked the final home date of the season for the program.

Cynthia McCollum led the way for the group, hitting .267 with nine kills and a team-best eight digs. Wendy Krell added seven, and the duo of Christina Hobbs and Alex Morford accounted for six.

Morford also led the way in assists with 24 to go along with seven digs.

Sierra Whittaker led the team in kills with match-best 11.

Lamar actually tallied more kills than ORU, but the Golden Eagles carried the advantage in efficiency, out-hitting the Lady Cards .295 to .100.

LU will complete its 2012 campaign next week against Sam Houston State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
