CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Cortney Moore put together yet another strong performance for the Lamar volleyball team on Thursday evening, racking up 11 kills at a .375 clip to go along with a pair of aces and four blocks, but it wasn’t enough for the Lady Cardinals as they were bested in 3-1 (21-25, 15-25, 25-23, 22-25) fashion at Dugan Wellness Center on the campus of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

The loss dropped Lamar to 10-21 this season and 2-15 in Southland play. TAMUCC improved to 11-6 in the SLC and 20-10 overall.

Cynthia McCollum also hit double figures in kills with 12, and the senior added 12 digs to register a double-double. Whittaker narrowly missed out on a double-double as well, picking up eight kills and 11 digs.

Megan Schwartz led the team in digs with 15, and both Alex Morford and Erika Rojas added 11 as well.

Morford led the Lady Cards in assists with 34, but the Islanders were more efficient offensively, out-hitting LU .220 to .106.

Lamar will cap the 2012 season on Saturday at Sam Houston State. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m.
