A closer look with Lamarcardinals.com
Lamarcardinals.com recently sat down with Taylor Campbell, a redshirt freshman outside hitter/middle blocker for the Lady Cardinals volleyball team. Here's a look at the quick chat we had with Taylor. Lamarcardinals.com: After your first year of college wrapped up, what did you do this summer? TC: I actually went to Africa for a mission trip with my church (Cypress Creek Church). We went to Uganda for 11 days and it was amazing. We worked in a children's home for three days with 90 kids and we did lessons and basically loved on them. All of the kids are orphans whose parents died of AIDS. Then we did a conference at the local church there and on the last day we went on a safari. After that I came home and was back here in July for Summer II. Lamarcardinals.com: With your redshirt season under your belt and a year of experience in your pocket, what do you need to do to get ready for this season? TC: I have to work hard. Come in every day and work hard to get better. I'm back in the middle this year and I'm really excited about that. It's a great opportunity for me. Lamarcardinals.com: I know this question might be a little strange, but what is your favorite part about two-a-days? TC: Two-a-days? That's a tough question. I guess just playing volleyball again and being with the team. Lamarcardinals.com: What do you think is your best strength as a player? TC: I feel like I give it everything I have when I'm on the court. I work hard and I am a team player. Lamarcardinals.com: One last question and I'll let you go. What is your favorite thing about Lamar University? TC: My friends. I've made some really good friends since coming to Lamar. Lamarcardinals.com: Thanks for sitting down with us Taylor. Since you enjoy practice so much, I'll let you go get ready to hit the court.
