Lady Cardinals Volleyball Hosts UT-Pan American

BEAUMONT - After four straight road wins to open Southland Conference play, the Lamar University volleyball team steps away from the SLC Tuesday night to host the Lady Broncs of UT-Pan American at McDonald Gym at 7 p.m.

The Lady Cards enter the match with a 12-7 record, having won eight straight matches. Lamar's current win streak began on September 8, when they defeated the University of Denver at the TCU tournament.

The Lamar offense is led by Molli Abel's 3.25 kills per game while the senior is posting 1.14 blocks per game. Kaci Brewer has also been a mainstay in the LU offense posting 3.11 kills per game, while Adrianne Meengs has passed out 10.88 assists per game. Lamar's defense is anchored by Andrea Hamilton, who is averaging 4.79 digs per game.

The Lady Broncs enter Tuesday night's match with a 7-12 record, on the heels of a 3-0 loss at Stephen F. Austin on September 25. They are led by Kellie Phillips who has averaged 3.38 kills per game, while setter Chelsea Blakely has passed out 9.40 assists per game. The UTPA defense is led by Jordan Davila's 4.61 digs per game.

After Tuesday's tilt with the Lady Broncs, Lamar will host McNeese State Saturday at 3 p.m.
