ARLINGTON, Texas - The Lamar University volleyball team closed out the 2005 season Friday night, falling 3-0 to the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks in the opening round of the Southland Conference Tournament.

The Ladyjacks put their mark on the match in game one, posting a 30-16 win. Lamar jumped out to an early 4-1 lead, but Stephen F. Austin quickly rebounded from the deficit and took control.

The Lady Cardinals continued to struggle in game two, as SFA jumped on top early and coasted to a 30-15 win. In game three, the Ladyjacks used their momentum from the first two games to roll past LU 30-13, closing out the match.

Lamar was led by Buchi Okoh's eight kills, while setter Ashley Todd passed out 17 assists. The match was also the final match of seniors Erica Brown and Nikki Perry's respective careers at Lamar.
