The Lamar University women's cross country team was named a 2011 Division I All-Academic Cross Country Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the association announced today.
The Lamar University men's cross country team placed fourth, while the LU women's cross country team placed seventh at the NCAA South Central Regionals on Saturday.
The Lamar University men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the NCAA South Central Regionals in Waco, Texas, on Saturday morning.
The Lamar University women's cross country team placed third, its highest finish since placing second in 2007, at the Southland Conference Championships on Monday. Lamar finished with 92 points, placing behind Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with 65 points and UTSA with 79 points.
