The Lamar University women's cross country team had a strong showing Friday, placing fifth out of 21 teams at the Bradley Classic.
The Lady Cards finished with 148 points. Missouri won the team title with 65 points.
Sam Walkow was Lamar's top finisher, placing 14 with a time of 21 minutes, 50.07 seconds for six kilometers. Teammate Taylor Cloy was 15th in 21:50.37. Krista Deceault of Illinois State won the race in 20:56.15.
Other Lamar finishers were Claire Miles in 39th (22:22.91), Becky Gough in 41st (22:25.23) and Angela LaBorde in 50th (22:35.71).
Lamar returns to action Oct. 31 at the Southland Conference Championships in Nacogdoches, Texas.
