BANGKOK, Thailand -
Amanda King will take to the track as a representative of her native country of New Zealand on Sunday, in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand.
King's last action was at the NCAA championships in June, where she ran the third fastest time of her career with a 10:21.28 performance. She has a personal-best of 10:16.99 in the steeplechase, which she ran at the Southland Conference outdoor championships in May.
This is the first time her career that King will participate in international competition as a member of the New Zealand team.
"I'm really excited about this opportunity," King said. "This is the first time I've been able to run for New Zealand, and running for my country is a great honor."
