Lamar University competes at the NCAA Division I level and is a member of the Southland Conference. Lamar sponsors 14 varsity sports, seven for the men and seven for the women. The seven men’s sports are: baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track and field, and tennis. The seven women’s sports are: basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track and field, tennis, and volleyball.
