The Lamar University Spirit Team is an elite Division I dance team. The number of members vary each year depending on the ability level of the pool of candidates. The team performs at all home men's and women's basketball games as well as at various community events. The spirit team also produces an annual cabaret show every spring to help raise scholarship money. There are currently a limited number of partial dorm scholarships available. Members must be full-time students and have a minimum 2.5 grade point average. Incoming freshmen, as well as students currently enrolled at Lamar, are eligible to audition. Auditions are usually held in late April or early May. Members attend camp every August, where the Lamar team has consistently won high awards. Some scholarships are available.

WHEN: Sunday, June 1st, 2008 at 3:00 pm. **Pre-audition workshop Saturday, May 31, 2008, 3:00 pm-5:00 pm, Mcdonald Gym

WHERE: Mcdonald Gym

WHAT TO EXPECT: Each participant will learn combinations across the floor, such as turns, leaps and jazz walks. You will also be taught a short jazz routine and cheer.

WHAT TO BRING: (1) Headshot, (2) Letters of recommendation, (3) Wear: Jazz pants, sports top and jazz shoes (NO T-SHIRTS OR BAGGY PANTS)
